Children’s Games by Pieter Bruegel the Elder (1560)
Activities
Look: Study the picture. Notice everything you can and try to remember it. What kinds of games are the children playing? How are their games similar to the games you like to play? How are they different? Close your eyes. Can you still imagine the picture? Look again. How does the painting make your feel? Without looking, describe the painting.

Observe: Take a walk outdoors to favorite trail or around your neighborhood, if you can. Observe people enjoying their time outside. What are they doing? What do you notice about them? What kinds of games are the children playing? I wonder if they like the same kinds of nature discoveries that you do. Consider drawing a nature sketch to mail to a friend or family member.
